In Arabic, "Bayara (" بيارة ") means a citrus garden—a symbol that connects me to my motherland, Palestine.
My first visit to my city, Tulkarem, Palestine, in 2019 (pictured below) felt like coming home to a place my heart had known all along. Though I've lived in four countries, none resonated with me as deeply as this land, where my grandfather's home once stood before it was demolished in 1967 by occupational forces.

My grandfather's bayara, however, survived—its vibrant oranges and ancient olive trees bearing witness to our heritage and resilience.
For those of us in the diaspora, we are like the fruits of the bayara, drawing strength from our roots. With this brand, I strive to create an alternative—a line of modern streetwear.
By creating BYARA, I follow in my grandfather's footsteps, planting my own garden—a brand rooted in heritage. Every piece is a tribute to his legacy, showing that even across borders, we can grow something beautiful and lasting from the seeds of our past. - Yara Qadan (Founder)
